Curve Tool

I like the new curve tool. Can you explain the velocity and acceleration in the curve and how it relates back to the master velocity? Attached is a screen shot of the curves from my current project.

Charles, if curves are executed as a function of time then the velocities and accelerations are accurate. However, if you are gearing the curves to a virtual axis then you need to think of the velocity as being more like a gear ratio that changes and the acceleration is a gear ratio rate. So when geared you must multiply the virtual master’s velocity by the gear ratio from the spline at the index point to get the slave axes’ true velocity. This isn’t hard to do for a graph. Calculating the slaves true acceleration is much harder because it is dependent on the virtual masters acceleration and velocity. I can provide the equation for this on request. It just starts to get messy.
