To run DCSMON on Windows 7 and newer, you will need to use a DOS emulator. DOSBox is a free, open source program that works well with a variety of old DOS programs.

1. Install DosBox from [http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1](http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1)
2. Create a folder C:\DOS
3. Place the DCSMON directory in C:\DOS
4. Modify DOSBox configuration (Start Menu-\>DOSBox Options)

            In the [serial] section

```auto
serial1=directserial realport:COM1
```

            in the [autoexec] section

```auto
mount C C:\DOS
```

1. Save and close the configuration file
2. Run DOSBox
3. Type the following commands:

```auto
C:
cd DCSMON
DCSMON
```
