Uni-Cast

So is unicast here? my robots are faulting from Ethernet throttle. I am looking to reduce chatter.

Stuart,

With Rockwell’s release of RSLogix 5000 v18, each EtherNet/IP I/O device can be set to (and defaults to) use Unicast instead of Multicast packets. We’ve long awaited this feature. The RMC70/150 controllers have supported unicast connections as long as we’ve supported EtherNet/IP I/O (August 2007), and we recently updated the RMC100 Ethernet firmware (20100330 release) to support them as well.

Are you coming out with a full PLC type package? Make sense to me. 90% of my systems either have hydraulics or a servo. Make sure you have add on Ethernet cards. Need a network connection and a machine network.

Plus I hate Sercos cards.

Thank you for your feedback. We do not intend to compete directly with PLCs, but your input is nonetheless valuable as we continue to innovate through new products and features.
