Quick Startup for 6DOF ---------------------- 1. You'll need an RMC150E with 3 SSI modules to control the 6 axes and an ethernet connection. 2. Install the latest software using the 6DOFInstall.exe in this folder. 3. That installs 2 programs: "6DOF" and "6DOF Profile Editor". 4. Open both programs. 5. The RMC needs user programs defined in "C:\Program Files (x86)\6DOF\Media\6DOF-Stream.rmcproj". To start them, open that project and Download All - they will run automatically. 6. Using the 6DOF Profile Editor, open "Profiles\RotateWithAngle.6dof" in this folder. 7. Enter or browse for the address of the RMC you want to use. 8. Connect and run the profile by pressing "Connect", then "Go!". 7. In 6DOF (the 3D program), enter or browse for the address of the RMC you want to use. 8. Connect to the RMC by pressing "Connect". 9. You should see the platform moving. Other things to do: ------------------- - Try other profiles. - Create new profiles (the +/- on the right allow you to add/delete steps). - Send suggestions for improving it to Mark. Notes/Bugs: ----------- - Any number of renderers may be connected, but only 1 profile editor should be sending commands. If the RMC gets commands from multiple sources, it will go ahead and process them. This could be improved, but for now... - There's a conflict between "Full Screen Mode" and the RMC browser. It's best to browse and connect before toggling Full Screen Mode. (Maximized is OK, but Full Screen tries to exclusively take over and not cooperate with the browser dialog). Last Update: 6/27/2013
