An LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) is a type of electrical transformer used for measuring linear displacement. This should not be confused with LDT (Linear Displacement Transdcuer), which is a more general name and includes many types of linear transducers.
To interface an LVDT with an RMC motion controller, a signal conditioner is required. The signal conditioner applies an AC signal to the LVDT and converts the resulting signal to a DC voltage or current.
