Open loop vs Direct Output Halts


I have read the help manual a few times, and I am still not totally sure on when to use Direct Output vs Open Loop halt.

Would a rotating system put into open loop halt apply a command in the opposite direction/polarity of when the halt was issued to stop motion, vs the command just ramping to 0v with the direct output halt?


Direct Output Halt and Open Loop Halt are almost the same. They will both ramp the Control Output down to zero. The Direct Output Halt will also turn off the Enable Output. Neither will apply an output in the opposite direction when stopping.
