It would be useful to start data captures and save them directly onto a high-capacity SD card (32 GB) inserted into the RMC200. This would allow various events to be recorded without the need for RMCTools to be open or a program developed using RMCLink. Additionally, it would be desirable for the data to be written continuously to the SD card, enabling long-duration captures to be recorded directly on the controller.
Thank you for the request! The need for easily storing plot data is continuously increasing in this era of big data. We are considering multiple options, and your feedback is very valuable and timely. Just last week, in a discussion about improving accessibility of plot data, there was doubt whether storing to the SD card is valuable, as customer perhaps don’t want to deal with an SD card.
Not sure how possible it would be but “dealing” with the SD card could be greatly simplified if you could use FTP with the controller to transfer logged plots from the SD card to your laptop.
It seems to me that to simplify things for most users, it would be nice to retrieve the captures saved on the SD card using RMCtools, in a way similar to what is already done with the “auto-save plots” feature of RMCtools.
