Studio 5000 introduced a new datatype feature released with Studio 5000 Logix Designer V36.00. The feature caused issues with the Delta’s EDS files. The issues can appear in multiple ways:
- Data types not changeable (only byte shown)
- Failure to open module properties.
The solution to this issue is detailed in Rockwell Automation’s Knowledgebase: Studio 5000 Logix Designer updating EDS AOP module tags
The solution is to install an AOP update from Rockwell. To install this update:
- Open the Product Compatibility & Download Center (PCDC) web page.
- Search for one of the following analog modules: 1756-OF8, 1756-OF4, 1756-IF8 or 1756-IF16.
- Select the latest series/firmware for the module, and proceed to Downloads.
- Use the Select Files option to view all available downloads for the select module.
- Download the item AOP - Add On Profiles for 1756 Analog1 v40.14.70.
- Extract the files and run the installation. A reboot will be required after the install complete.
