RMC200 Ethercat communication to slave devices w/o CANopen protocol

The documentation for Ethercat on the RMC200 adapter mentions that the COE profile 402 and 408 however can the RMC200 extend IO by for example using a Beckhoff Ethercat IO like the EP1008 for axis limits and similar IO?

Also has anyone use the Ethercat master with something like a dewesoft R8 DAQ that can stream a duplicate stream of realtime data out to RT controllers? Typically they cite test controllers like the MTS series however having a DAQ front end and RMC controller back end. This capability would make a full general purpose testbench with the the possibility of running hundreds of channels.

Yes, the RMC200 EtherCAT MainDevice can accept general EtherCAT remote I/O devices like the Beckhoff EP1008. As long as the SubDevice can supply sensor data as a PDO, it can be mapped as input to the RMC200 motion controller.

I am not aware of anyone testing the RMC ECAT MainDevice with a DAQ like the Dewesoft. The RMC200 is currently limited to a total of 128 axes; up to 50 Control and the remainder Reference (input-only), Virtual, or Outer Loop.
